Example Characters
When someone dies, certain kinds of people always seem to appear—drawn by grief, guilt, or the promise of something left behind.
The Estranged Heir
A relative who broke ties with the deceased years ago but returns solely for potential inheritance, dismissing supernatural occurrences as tricks played by rivals. Their danger response instinct is to blame other heirs for strange events rather than acknowledge supernatural possibilities.

Adversary: The Faithful Servant
The Childhood Confidant
A non-relative who spent formative years at the house and shares deep history with the deceased, often sensing the deceased's lingering presence when others cannot. Their danger response instinct is to address the deceased directly, believing their connection offers protection.
Phobia: Chronophobia (fear of time's passage)
Adversary: The Gold Digger
The Faithful Servant
Long-time household staff member whose loyalty extends beyond death, often serving as intermediary between the deceased's wishes and the living heirs. Their danger response instinct is to protect the house and its secrets, even at personal risk.
